Primary sector news for the Private Land and Property Fund (PLPF).
- Grapes to apples in Waimea: A positive outlook for apple exports and good prices for apple orchards is behind the decision to turn approximately 40 canopy hectares of Waimea vineyards into apple orchards.
- Kiwifruit: Zespri is predicting strong growth in kiwifruit supply and demand across its varieties. It’s expected Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit will remain the key driver of this growth with less supply of Zespri Green Kiwifruit helping to maximise those future returns. Meanwhile Zespri has commercialised a new red kiwifruit variety.
