Here are some highlights from the quarter ending 30 September 2026.
New additions to the Booster Innovation Fund
It’s been another active quarter for the Booster Innovation Fund, with two New Zealand companies joining the portfolio.
TheiaNova is developing novel therapies for people with vision disorders. Built on research from the University of Auckland, its work includes a new treatment for keratoconus, a progressive condition affecting the cornea.
TheiaNova’s approach aims to provide a painless, non-invasive treatment targeting the underlying health of the cornea, rather than only managing impaired vision or slowing further deterioration.
BIF also welcomed Hello Cashflow, a New Zealand fintech company developing tools to help small business owners better understand and plan their cashflow.
Its platform turns accounting data into cashflow forecasts, scenario planning and visual business insights, helping business owners get a clearer view of their financial position and what could lie ahead.
Hello Cashflow was introduced to BIF through the CreativeHQ Fintech Accelerator Program, where Booster is an Investment Partner.
BIF companies building momentum overseas
Other BIF portfolio companies have also been making progress beyond New Zealand.
Following a sell-out launch at home, Goodair Nosebuds have now launched into the Australian market. The reusable and rechargeable device uses vibroacoustic technology designed to support the nose’s natural cleaning processes and provide a drug-free option for people managing hay fever and allergy symptoms.
Calocurb has also attracted international attention following the release of new clinical research into Amarasate®, its New Zealand-grown hops extract.
The study reported greater body-fat loss among participants using Calocurb than those receiving a placebo, while maintaining muscle mass. The research adds to Calocurb’s work exploring how Amarasate® supports the body’s natural release of the appetite-regulating hormone GLP-1.

There has also been plenty happening across the Private Land and Property Fund.
-
From vines to apples at Waimea: At Waimea, work continued during the quarter to convert part of the vineyard portfolio into apple orchards. Vineyard removal and land preparation progressed, while additional shares in Waimea Irrigators Limited were purchased to provide the increased water supply required for apple production. Planting began in early September and is expected to be completed during October. The redevelopment is part of a broader programme to transition selected vineyard land into higher-value horticultural uses. Around 46 hectares of land is being redeveloped into approximately 40 canopy hectares of apples.
-
Growing the gold at Woodland Road: Development is continuing at Woodland Road Orchard in the Bay of Plenty. The value of PLPF’s investment increased by approximately $2.2 million during the September quarter, reflecting $2.0 million of additional development funding, continued maturation of the orchard and balance sheet movements. Export revenue is also now being received from the 2026 kiwifruit harvest, which was completed during the June quarter. Meanwhile, the conversion of avocado land to gold kiwifruit continues following the purchase of an additional 4.33 hectares of gold kiwifruit licence in May.
-
Positive progress in the dairy sector: Positive momentum continues in the dairy farm sector with another strong forecasted Fonterra milk price and low interest rates contributing to high buyer confidence. During the quarter, the Southland dairy farm properties were increased in value by $4.0 million.
